We’re the Cains and this is our blog.  Thanks for visiting!  Here’s a little biographical information on us:

Brooks grew up in Greenwood, SC and Riva spent a large portion of her life in Salem, VA.  They met through a mutual friend while Brooks was studying Bible and Theology at Covenant College and Riva was majoring in Psychology at James Maddison University.  They dated long distance for two years, worked at Ridge Haven Camp and Conference center together in 2006, and were married on July 7, 2007.  For a year Riva worked as the Events Coordinator at Covenant College while Brooks finished college.  There, they also ministered to Junior High students at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.  In 2008, they moved to St. Louis to work with the Jr. Hi youth group at the Kirk of the Hills and attend Covenant Theological Seminary.  Three years later, they received Masters degrees in Counseling and Divinity, respectively. In June of 2011, the moved to Salem, VA where Riva worked as a Counseling Resident and Brooks served at two area churches while they raised support.  By God’s grace, they raised all of their support and moved to Japan in May 2013 where they currently support and encourage missionary families on the field, train local next gen ministry workers, and assist All Nations Fellowship in reaching the youth of Japan with the good news of Jesus.

  1. Brooks & Riva! WOW! Thanks for posting your blog and allowing us to be a part of what Christ is doing through you! I’m so excited to see how He will prepare you, provide for you, and produce fruit through your service to Him. We’ll be praying!
